H.P. Mallory Blog Tour

Hello everybody, please help me welcome the fabulous H.P. Mallory!  *applause* It is my privilege to host the second to last stop on this phenomenal tour arranged by the talented Belinda – The Bookish Snob .  Besides a great interview with H.P. herself, I have also managed to dig up some dirt on her characters when I talked to a mutual friend of theirs…Thank you Sarina for sharing your letters with me.

Hi, I'm HP Mallory and I've written two series, the first about a fairy in law enforcement (To Kill A Warlock and A Tale of Two Goblins) and the second about a witch who can bring back the dead (Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble and Toil and Trouble).

I'm a mongo fan of anything that goes bump in the night and Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! (Quick tangent--the best costume I've ever worn was last year when I went as the Headless Horseman and my baby was my Jack-O-Lantern head!) I've always loved the Twilight Zone Marathons and if I ever saw a ghost, I think I'd wet myself.

I grew up in California although I've lived abroad in the UK (England and Scotland--woo hoo, gotta love those kilts!)

I'd categorize my writing as a blend of suspense, humor, light horror, and romance with a sprinkle of fantasy to tie everything together! If you are all about fairies and witches and vampires (oh my!), you love a good alpha warlock and you like men who get a little hairy during a full moon, I got the goods.

The Interview:

C.G - Your books are laced with a barrage of hot interesting men and “Tale of Two Goblins” is no exception…Quillan our good boy gone bad, Bram the self-centered sexy Vampire and Knight a hot mysterious Loki. Where do you get your inspiration from to write such interesting men? Photo muses, men from the past, imagination or Mr. Mallory topless in plaid flannel night pants?
H.P. - Um, I'm not really sure where my inspiration comes from. Probably from society. LOL Just watching movies and reading tons of books, classics and modern romances about hot men! LOL And in some instances, I have pulled scenes or situations from my sordid dating past. But, I have kept Mr. Mallory separate from the books. Some things are sacred. LOL

C.G. - Many of the character types are in all four books, will there be a book that incorporates characters from both the Jolie and Dulcie series? Or are these two series completely different worlds?
H.P. - Nope. I like to keep their worlds separate.

C.G. - Where are some of the strangest places you have written or had sex? Please don’t specify which one are which…We all love a good mystery!
H.P. - LOL! OK, um...
the car
the side of the road
Barnes and Noble
the office
outside while getting some sun

Now time for the lightning round, this is where you get to use single word answers.
Flip-flops or Stilettos?
flip flops

Printed or eBook?
both
Favorite color?
blue

Favorite food?
Mexican

Desk or laptop?
desk

Red or white?
white

Beach or Mountains?
mountains

Kilt or Chaps?
kilt for sure

Blond or Brunet?
brunette

Henry Cavill or Henry Cavill?
Um, Henry Cavill and then some

C.G. - Okay the last one was a trick question. LOL

C.G. - So, what other hook-ups do we have to look forward too? I would love to see Trey and Dagan’s sister together…demon and the geek. She would so use him…Hehehehe.
H.P. - OMG that is too funny! What about Trey and Dagan? LOL
C.G. - ROFLMAO…Trey in a Kilt and Dagan in Chaps!!! I would so read that…LOL

C.G. - If you could go back and rewrite one of the scenes which one would it be and what would you change?
H.P. - You know, I'm pretty happy with all the scenes in the books. I go through a lengthy review and edit process and if I don't like anything even slightly, it gets axed.

C.G. - We know that Dulcie has completed her book about Bram “A Vampire and a Gentleman”…Do I see a possible Novella in the works? Many of us would love to hear about Bram’s sorted past.
H.P. - Hmm, that is a good idea. More to come on this!

These are some of the letters of the notorious Siren Sarina

Dear Bram,
Who would have thought Vampires were that flexible! You gave a whole new meaning to strapped to the yardarm and flogged.  Without a doubt you were the sexiest 18th century Vampirate I have ever known and went hoarse from screaming name so many times.

Dear Dagan,
You little devil!!!  I think of you every time I smell leather and blood.  Your body like a hard hot furnace and that crazy night was worth every bump and bruise.  It was unfortunate the evening had to end hand cuffed in the back of an ANC squad car.

Dear Quillan,
I could see straight through that good boy persona the moment you threw me against the wall and cuffed me at Dagans.  You undressed me with your eyes all the way to the squad car and by the time you put me in the back seat, I had my legs wrapped around you waist and your op6 digging into my hipbone.  Although it was a bit disarming when you kept screaming out Ducie....Who the fuck is Ducie?

Dear Sam,
Don’t worry…It’s our little secret!

My Dearest Knight,
You reminded me that there was a difference between sex and love.  A lesson that was lost on me, your gentle ways made me wish my sirens song worked on Loki and left me longing for Bram and Dagen. Never the less you were nothing short of visual perfection, so I played along for as long as I could.

Dear whatever you name is,
Trevor, Trent, Trace ...Did you really think you had a chance? Not going to happen!  Even a Siren has her standards.

Thank you everyone for stopping by!!! Don't forget to stop at H.P. Mallory's Blog & Website for the last stop on this tour.

  1. How fun--the blog tour! Congrats to you both on your successes so far. Still in the final edit stage of my first book and writing one for a Harlequin contest at the end of this month. I have some interesting links in my post for Follow Friday: http://fateandfaith-julee.blogspot.com/2011/05/follow-friday-and-some-amusing-links.html Best wishes for your continued success--btw, my best costume was a green pantsuit and green makeup. I was of course, green with envy.
