Io's Song - Concept Cover

In my drunken stupor last night, I began to plot out my next book.  It will be called Io’s Song.  I made a concept cover for it....Feel free to tell me what you think.

  1. I'm impressed. You did this while drunk? If so, maybe you should drink more often. It's a great cover!

  2. Hahaha thank you London, I did this the morning after (New Years day). I don't think I could have done the cutout work drunk. I completely agree that a drink every now and then helps to get the creative juices going, if I'm thinking to hard about something.

  3. This is beautiful (love the bright splash of blue) and gives an atmosphere. I haven't tried making any sort of concept cover for my manuscripts before writing them, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance. How do you put them together? Do you find it helps keep you focused?

  4. Thank you Marcy! Once I've decided to start a new project, I find that making a cover, and a muse character sheet with photos of people I imagine might look like my characters, helps me to get into the story...It's how I put a face to them when I write.

I use Corel, but I know a lot of people who use Adobe to do the same thing.

  5. well, congrats. It is really great hove many gifts you ve got - to be writer and to be graphic designer.:-) I love romantic mood and earthy colors of the cover - they fit to blue and aqua...

    1. Thank you, I fell in love with the colors too! I can't wait to write the book that goes with it. :-)
