Cupid Painted Blind Blog Heist

Sarina the Siren here, C.G. is sick in bed, so I decided to take advantage of the situation and heist her blog.  It’s a good thing she is in a drug induced stupor, because I have been up to my usual shenanigans with her cabana boy.

Being a siren, it’s only natural that I take advantage of such events.  Like the time I went to Sparta to track down Ares for Aphrodite.  That didn’t work out the way she thought would.  Really, who in their right mind sends a siren to retrieve their boyfriend?  Guess she’ll never do that again.  Would you like to know the rest of the story?  Well, check out “Cupid Painted Blind”.  C.G. has been kind enough to write one of my adventures, which is included in this great anthology.
Looks like I’m not the only one who did a blog heist today.  So, stop by the other blogs to see what their characters have to say.  Stephanie Nelson, Liz Schulte, Lisa Ryans, Cait Lavender and Olivia Hardin.

Autumn’s Call by Lisa Rayns
When Autumn realizes death is chasing her, she runs only to be stalled by an unresolved ghost. Is he there to help her? Or does he want retribution for his murder?

Tell a Soul by Olivia Hardin
He’s the dependable one. The strong and steadfast one. Still, there’s one woman who has always turned his firm resolve on end. Langston is surprised beyond... belief to find Kristana again, and this time without a husband. Has fate finally given them the chance to be together? Kristana can’t escape her intense attraction for the strange giant Langston, but the murmuring voices in her head are threatening to drive her mad. Can she find a way to trade one torment for another and thereby find true love?

The Siren Sarina by C.G. Powell
Being a siren is not all that it is cracked up to be, especially when you play with the gods.  Sarina, like all good sirens, has a penance for sex and not with just anyone.  This time her prey is Ares the god of war and lover to Aphrodite.  Not that Sarina minds stepping on the goddess of loves toes, but when Ares gifts her with the powers of a god, Zeus can’t help but to intervene.

Fool Moon by Cait Lavendar
All Jack saw when he looked at Carlie was perfection until she ripped out a man's throat. Confused by the pull she had on his heart, he is left with the choice to chase after the love of his life or to be left howling at the Fool Moon.

When Opportunity Haunts by Stephanie Nelson
With and eternity as the Angel of Death before him, not much could get under Dorian Hade's skin-that was until he met Gwen Sparks. She shuts down all of his advances and insists they are just friends. Dorian takes matters into his own hands and tricks Gwen into a romantic weekend away from her ex-boyfriend at a haunted bed and breakfast.

#Awaken (The Patronus) Book Tour

Awaken (The Patronus) Lucy Donovan was supposed to have a weekend of fun in the sun, celebrating her upcoming graduation from college. In a split second, everything changed. A drunk driver ended Lucy’s mortal life.
Lucy opens her eyes to a world she never imagined possible and a new destiny: as a Patronus, a guardian of spirits. Adjusting to her new role and abilities while negotiating this confusing realm will test her limits and push her further than she ever dreamed she would go. From wayward spirits who don’t want her help to soul stealing vampires, and even a stuck-up British royal, Lucy must brave them all to save one spirit she can’t bear to lose.
Further complicating her confusing life is an inexplicable yet growing connection she feels to a member of her team, Max, whose mysterious behavior leaves her both confused and intrigued.
Waking up dead was just the beginning of her problems. Lucy’s death is about to become the greatest adventure of her life.

Supernaturally Yours: Top 10 Hottest Elves

I decided I needed a fun piece for my blog this week.  So, when a fellow author thought we should take on the top 10’s in the Supernatural world, I said “I’m in,” and picked the topic of Elves.  Ironically, if not for Lord of the Rings, I might be kind of elfless.

Alright, here is my top 10

10. The Elves and the Shoemaker elves – I know, they really are not hot per say, but I’m a woman and they make shoes....Do the math.

9. Temple Guard Wood Elf – Hot in their own kind of gamming way.

8. Keebler Elf – He is downright adorable and he has chocolate.

7. Bernard from The Santa Clause – He has a certain cute factor and when you consider the fact that he is in the gift giving business, you can’t help but like him.

6. Galadhrim Elves (General) – This is a nice looking bunch as a whole...

5. Celeborn from LOTR – He is an elf lord and was said to be the smartest elf in Middle-earth and I like them smart.

4. Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle – There is something sexy about this Hayao Miyazaki character...If I were Sophie I would fall in love with him too.

3. The Elves of Helms Deep – That is one hot army!!!

2. Haldir from LOTR – I like the way he fights, I would follow him into battle and other places.

1.      Legolas Greenleaf from LOTR – He is my ultimate fantasy elf.  Sexy, smart, playful, and crazy courageous.  He is the whole hot package!!!

What are people saying about Blood Awakening?

"An awesome beginning to the series!" -Imaloud

"A Surefire winner by an author to watch!!" -Hotmaja54

"So, do I recommend this story? Darn right, I do!!" -JenniferS

 Overview:
Evil starts the clock ticking, leaving Nicole's life changed forever....

Hidden powers, ancient grudges, romance and action that will leave you begging for more....

First of all I want to send a big thank you to my friend C.G. Powell. The writing community is a very supportive one and C.G. is a great example of that kindness. From our meager days prior to publishing our first words she has been a shoulder for me to lean on. Big hugs to you C.G. Powell!

How about I tell you a bit about me first, the person behind the pen? I'm Wenona Hulsey, mother of two and blue collar worker by day. But at night I turn into Wenona Hulsey, master of words and worlds. I’ve always written for as long as I can remember. I kept journals off and on from the age of nine but I really got into writing about a year ago. I was searching for a creative outlet at a time in my life when I felt like I was living in a rut. I sing terrible, I dance like I'm have seizures and my art looks like stick figures so I turned to what came easiest to me ---writing. I started working on my first novel, Burden of Blood, and it moved along remarkably fast. I guess that could be contributed to my recent binge reading of all books labeled paranormal romances but I had an idea of what I wanted and I put it to paper.

As I was nearing the end of my writing frenzy on Burden of Blood when a fascinating novelette idea popped into my head and Blood Awakening was born. It works as a back story to two of the main characters in Burden of Blood, giving you more detail and insight into who Nicole Keenan and her best friend Kat were before their world was turned on its head. I would consider Blood Awakening more of a thriller, suspense with a dash of paranormal and comedy thrown in. But Burden of Blood is full on Paranormal Romance with hot warriors and gothic fairies in leading roles.

Now that I've sent both Blood Awakening and Burden of Blood out into the world, I'm working on book two in the Nicole Keenan series which is titled Blood of Fire. I'm hoping have this one published in spring of 2012.

Okay, I'll stop yammering away and give you all the juicy details about my books and a bit on where you can find me if you want to chat. Thanks so much for letting me join you today C.G!

Blurb

Nicole, a small town Alabama girl, and her best friend Kat take a weekend trip to Panama City, Florida. Kat looking to have a good time and Nicole hoping to escape the pain of losing her mother for a little while. Little did Nicole know, the escape would awaken a ancient power that is hidden in her blood. A power that evil wants for its own and will do whatever it takes to have it.

This short story is a look into best friends', Nicole and Kat, life before a centuries old grudge and Nicole's emerging powers rips them apart. A power that Nicole wants no part of as it brings her to her knees and forces her to walk away from her small town life and everyone she loves.

Blood Awakening ebook can be found on Amazon, B&N and Smashwords for 99 cents.

Blurb

No one wants to know everyone’s darkest secrets, especially not police officer, Nicole Keenan. All she wants is a blissfully normal life in the small, Alabama town where she was born. But as generations of power running through her veins start to wake up, an ancient grudge is ignited that threatens to push her over the edge. She can hardly believe in what she is, let alone that a dark force will not stop until she's joins them. Or is dead.

Nicole Keenan's life enters into a dangerous dance with warriors and gothic fairies. Southern tradition collides with Irish folklore as she learns about love, heartbreak, and The Burden of Blood.

Burden of Blood (Book 1 of the Nicole Keenan Series) ebook can be found on Amazon and B&N.
